Entertainment
For a "Night to Remember" MTU has arranged to have "Da Yoopers" perform in the Rozsa Entertainment Center Friday evening which is also located down the hill from the Rally. As their website acclaims, "Da Yoopers" are the " #1 FISHING, HUNTING & BEER DRINKING COMEDY SHOW IN AMERICA!". The comedy songs and sketches are packed with crazy antics that spoof everyday life.
You never know what to expect from the masters of Yooper comedy...Crazy bingo players, pizza obsessions, hunters who never get deer, football fanatics, nutty fishermen, moose, frogs, bear, deer and an array of assorted crazy characters that give the crowd a feeling that they're watching a live cartoon. Advance general seating tickets for the concert are available on MTU's website for $12 and at the door for $15. However, the Rozsa only seats about 1100, so don't wait, not everyone at the Rally will have this once in a lifetime opportunity!
Besides "Da Yoopers" concert at the Rosza Center, three different bands will be providing entertainment starting at 8:00 PM at "Rally Central" Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Although the plans are not finalized yet, we are hoping for the following:
Thursday: "Cheap Therapy" from the Copper Country
Cheap Therapy is a local band that plays at many of the festivals and pubs in the Keweenaw. A six piece Classic Rock dance band with 3 Guitars, Keyboards/Horn, Sax, and Drums playing favorites from 60s, 70s and dabbling in the 80s.Tunes vary from Rock, Blues, Pop, and Motown. Paula, Dave, John, Joel, Tom and Denny have been together for 5 years and have over 100+ years of experience. The band recently released a CD of original music, having 5 songwriters in the group. Paula says; "We love to have fun with the people we play for!"

Friday: "Flat Broke Blues Band" from Marquette, Michigan
The band features guitarist/vocalist Walt Lindala, bassist/vocalist Mark Johnson, guitarist/vocalist Mike Letts, drummer Jim Cohen and lead vocalist/harmonica player Lorrie Hayes. Flat Broke Blues Band takes the influences of blues, rock, soul and R&B and creates a sound that respects the tradition of the blues but also pushes it's contemporary bounds. The band's stage show is filled with an entertaining and danceable mix of blues and R&B classics along with a variety of original songs that showcase the talents of all of the band members.

Saturday: "Conga Se Menne" from Marquette, Michigan
The musical style of Conga Se Menne is impossible to pigeon hole, running the gamut of Blues, Funk, Latin, Reggae, Rock, Caribbean beats and ethnic Finnish sounds. Island beat percussion blends smoothly with mellifluous keyboards, sonorous horns and big shouldered guitar work - all mixing with an influence of traditional styles. While the bands lyrics are geared for fun, the quality of their sound is no laughing matter. Syria's original songs carry the flavor of Michigan's Upper Peninsula in lyrical silliness and the spirit of its hearty residence in musical excellence. Conga Se Menne live and work along the chilly invigorating banks of Lake Superior and their mastery of melodic syncopation is second to none.
