When you receive this eNewsletter, pre-rally registration will be up and running. So if you are predisposed to pre-register, now is the time.
When you go to pre-register, you will notice that we have deviated from our normal rally fee structure of $30 pre registration and $35 at the gate. The registration fee structure for this rally is $61 pre registration and $67 at the gate. Why so much, you ask? Your rally registration includes a ticket to the estate, which provides unlimited access to the Biltmore House and winery tours. Last year at the Biltmore a one-day pass alone cost $43. Your rally fee gives you this same access for three days plus all the normal rally fare of an RA event. For those of you who have been to the Biltmore Estate, you all know this is a bargain. Suffice it to say, this will be a great rally and well worth the higher entrance fee this year.
Vendor Registration – We are still working out the final details for vendor registration! If you are interested in vending, contact Hank Rowland, Vendor Chair.
The entertainment has been set for the rally. Our Entertainment Chair, Chris Long, found some great groups located right in the Asheville area. As you know, we endeavor to find and showcase local talent, and this year will be no exception:
Thursday night – Lo-Fi Breakdown
Traditionally we like to have one night of Bluegrass music (more if we can find it!) and I think we've found a good one. Lo-Fi Breakdown plays traditional bluegrass while forging new sounds.
Friday night – Teezer & the Firecatz
This is a high-energy band that plays a variety of music. They're known for taking all genres of music and making it into their own brand of entertainment.
Saturday night – One Leg Up
They are an acoustical band that plays gypsy jazz, Latin swing and modern jazz with a sprinkling of their own compositions. Something different as we wind the rally down on Saturday evening.
Visit the rally website to view more information and access to music clips for each group.
The buzz is out there about this rally. Hotels in the immediate area of the estate are beginning to fill up.
Rally preparations are zooming along with all eyes focused on Asheville in June!
As always, if you have questions, contact me and I'll endeavor to answer them.
