Boise is located within Idaho's Treasure Valley, situated in the southwest portion of Idaho along Interstate 84. Boise is within a day's ride of some of the most spectacular scenery in the country, with the Grand Tetons to the east, the Sawtooths to the north, the Blue Mountains of Oregon to the west, and the Owyhee Mountains in the south.
Boise, the capital city of Idaho, is a full-service community
with all the amenities of a larger city (opera, theater, concerts,
fine dining and hotels, excellent health care facilities)
but with a small-town atmosphere. With the rally occurring
in a central western location, the positive responses generated
from the announcement of the Peaks of America tour (the RA
rally in Boise being the leadoff leg), and the rally being
held during the peak of the riding/rally season, we are anticipating
a larger than average turnout.
The Expo Idaho grounds hosts a number of events during the year which include shows for outdoor enthusiasts, various home and garden shows, car shows, one of the largest ski swaps and sales in the country, and the biggest event, the Western Idaho Fair. Similar to last year's event in Shelbyville, this year's rally site is emphasizing convenience. The vendors will be centrally located between the camping areas, the Beer Garden and seminar rooms, the bike judging area, and the food vendors. Alternate eating establishments, a large one-stop grocery store, and the Boise River are just outside the Expo Idaho grounds.
- Vendors will have three main areas for booth display:
1) the North Expo hall, which is a climate controlled ~18,000 s.f. building with power, restrooms, and a small concession area,
2) the grassy area (~ 9,000 s.f.) immediately north of the North Expo building with power availability and a primary footpath running alongside and,
3) a paved parking lot at the south end of Western Town (immediately behind the Expo buildings) with power availability.
- For vendors needing larger areas for trailer sized displays or to provide service or install accessories on motorcycles, the grassy area or the parking lot of Western Town will be your location.
- All vendor areas will have free access to a wireless internet connection.
- The vendor spaces are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
Please remember that each vendor staff member must register as a rally participant and will receive a vendor wrist band. If your business has any special requirements or if you have any questions not addressed on the web site, please feel free to contact me directly.
We look forward to seeing you in July 2006.
Sincerely,
Rick Edwards
