PFEIFFER WINS ANOTHER ONE!
Just saw him again in Utah, where he entertained the crowds all weekend long, with Chris "Teach" McNeil, on some tricked out BMW's: G450X, S1000RR, F800GS with FULL LUGGAGE...sure does look easy! But looks are deceiving, are they not?
Chris Pfeiffer and his BMW F 800 R have won the German Stuntriding Open held past weekend at the Hockenheimring. The Bavarian successfully defended his 2009 title.
"I am very happy to win. There were a lot of the world´s best riders competing, a lot of new, extremely difficult tricks taken to the stage and the final proved to be nerv-wrecking," Pfeiffer said after the event.
Saturday saw the qualifying held on an area of 30 x 80 meters. Eight out of 41 participants transferred to Sunday´s final. The main event staged on the start/finish straight of the well-known road racing circuit saw Pfeiffer, winner on Saturday, to start last. He watched his rivals, knew what they had been showing and how the judges responded to their tricks.
Following Rafal Pasierbeck, Sebastien Desbonnet and Thomas Sagnier, Pfeiffer knew he had to take some risk to capture the win. Pfeiffer delivered with his latest trick, the 180 brake slide roll back, although he hadn´t been totally confident it was going to work. But the defending champ mastered it fine, moving to a "no hands circle wheelie".
"Yep, that went good," Pfeiffer explains. "I was really flowing afterwards, barely making a mistake. I made it to the superfinal together with Pasierbek, Desbonnet and Sagnier."
The second performance lasted four and a half minutes again, with Chris underlining what a class act he is.
"Looking at the other riders, my second run wasn´t the most difficult, but almost error-free again. Pretty stylish, I would say. I earned the highest points score once more and repeated last year´s victory," the old and new champ added.

Pfeiffer also took the German title on Sunday morning. This championship was decided in one run.

Kirssi Does It Again In Germany
Kirssi makes it One-man show
BMW Husqvarna factory rider Simo Kirssi has crushed the opposition at round three of the German Cross Country Championship. The Finn dominated the event held at Marisfeld on his way to claiming the series lead of Europe´s biggest motorcycling off road series.
In front of 4,500 spectators Kirssi led through the opening stages of the two-hour moto, before a mistake allowed fellow countryman Samuli Aro to move in front. Under blazing sunshine and on a highly technical yet flowing course, Kirssi didn´t have to follow his rival for very long. By the end of lap two the original order was re-installed, and the friendly Finn never looked back. The 30-year-old rounded the Marisfeld track 10 to 20 seconds quicker per lap than his opponents, as he kept powering away aboard his BMW 450 X.
Following a pit stop at half distance for re-fuelling, Kirssi only did what it took to defend his lead. While multi-time Enduro World champ Aro dropped back, neither first round winner Stefan Svitko nor Dutchman Hans Vogels were able to mount a serious challenge.
Kirssi now sits on top of the standings. He´s tied on points with Svitko, but holds the upper hand due to his superior number of race wins.
Simo Kirssi: "A brilliant track, one that´s suiting me very well. A strong crowd and a professional organisation added to a higly enjoyable race. I managed to set a good pace early on, which gave me a solid gap before everyone came into the pits. The team signalled I´d rather keep a low profile during the remainder of the race. That´s what I did, so here I am on the top step of the podium."

Bob's BMW Track Day: Summit Point Motorsports Park, WV, Thursday, June 17th, All Day!
Imagine: No speed limits. No cops. No double yellow lines. No soccer moms in SUVs. Just a big curvy road and no limitations except your own. Sound like a dream? It’s not. Bob's is partnering with Roger Lyle's MotorcycleXcitement Day at Summit Point Race Track in West Virginia to bring you a day of thrilling fun and valuable skill building. You’ll ride your own bike on a real race track where it’s just you, your machine, and the pavement — an environment as free from distraction and hazards as you’ll ever find.
This is not a race. It’s not riding lessons. It’s just a chance to get onto a track with folks you know to work on your skills in a relatively safe and controlled situation. Ride a few laps, take a break, talk about your experiences and what you’ve learned, and then get back on the track for more. You’re not expected to prove anything. There’s no trophy to win. The purpose of this day is to concentrate on one thing—riding to the best of your ability. You’ll be amazed at what it does for your skill and your confidence. But this is important: you don’t have to be a sport bike rider! All types of riders and are welcome and encouraged to attend. Bring your big tourer, your little enduro, or anything in between.
Working together with Roger Lyle's pro staff at Summit Point, Bob’s team of “Control Riders” Lex O'Brien, Darryl Carmichael, and Charlie Goss, will be on hand to assure your confidence, answer questions, provide tips and coaching as needed, and assist in any way possible to make your Track Day SAFE and FUN.
Your cost, if you register and prepay by June 12th, is only $225. After that it goes up to $250. Of course this includes some extra benefits too. Please read on.
Here’s what you get with your Track Day experience:
1. An Orientation/Inspection Session here at Bob's prior to Track Day on June 12th where everything you need to know will be covered in detail. We’ll also pre-inspect your bike & gear for any that might disqualify your admittance to the track.
2. MotorcycleXcitement annual membership and the cool official T-SHIRT.
3. A FULL DAY at Summit Point. You’ll have LOTS of time riding the track!
4. Chilled drinking water and light snacks available throughout the day. (you’ll need it!)
5. Canopy tent and chairs where you can rest between track sessions.
6. A filling lunch at the Summit Point Café provided by Bob’s.
Sport Bike Day: Saturday, June 19th, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm at Bob's BMW
We'll have a DYNO on site at Bob's! And it'll cost you just 20 bucks to put your bike to the power test! You're not afraid to find out how much horsepower you REALLY have, are you? So what happens when raw power meets raucous fun? It’s “Axles of Evil,” our fourth annual celebration of all things BADASS. Sportbikers – on ANY brand – are invited to come to Bob’s to indulge themselves in all manner of undignified behavior.
Go Fast. Let Loose. Make Noise! Everybody's favorite Loud Pipe SOUND-Off contest is at noon. And other barely legal hijinx in store. Don't miss it!

I WANT TO MENTION SUPERPOLE:
Salt Lake City - Qualifying Practice 2 & Superpole. Sunday, 30 May 2010.
Weather conditions: Sunny. Temperature: Air: 19 - 24°C, Track: 28 - 44°C Number of riders participating: 21 from 12 teams Fastest lap Qualifying Practices: Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia Racing) 1:48.115 min Fastest lap Superpole 3: Carlos Checa (Althea Racing) 1:47.081 min
Mixed emotions for Team BMW Motorrad Motorsport after the Superpole Qualifying at Miller Motorsport Park close to Salt Lake City (USA): Although neither of the BMW, riders Ruben Xaus (ESP) and Troy Corser (AUS), made it into the final session, both riders' lap times on race tyres were not too bad. In the end, Ruben missed Superpole 3 by only the blink of an eye and finished ninth. Troy crashed on his flying lap in the second Superpole session, but luckily returned to the garage unhurt. He will start tomorrow's races from 15th.
Ruben Xaus: Bike: BMW S 1000 RR Fastest lap Qualifying Practices: 1:49.477 min / Fastest lap Free Practice: 1:49.580 min / Fastest lap Superpole 2: 1:48.141 min "On the one hand I am disappointed because I missed the final Superpole session by just two hundredths of a second, while on the other hand I am really happy: If someone had told me yesterday I would start ninth, I would not have believed it. We were looking for a good position on the grid. Now I am hoping for good starts tomorrow. I am optimistic for tomorrow as I believe our pace on race tyres is good."
Troy Corser: Bike: BMW S 1000 RR Fastest lap Qualifying Practices: 1:48.318 min / Fastest lap Free Practice: 1:49.311 min / Fastest lap Superpole 2: 1:48.706 min "I have reason to be happy. I can do good lap times on the race tyre and the bike settings feel quite good. Unfortunately the qualifying tyre was not easy to ride on. I had chattering on the out lap, and when I approached turn 1 on my flying lap I braked, as usual, but when I released the brake I fell off the bike. I tried not to damage the bike too much, and I am happy not to be hurt. I hope I can take advantage of the long straight before turn 1 when starting tomorrow's races."
Davide Tardozzi (BMW Motorrad Motorsport Team Manager): "We have improved a lot today. Both riders did good lap times on the race tyre, but the result of the Superpole is a bit unlucky: Ruben missed the final Superpole session only by two hundredths of a second. Troy obviously compromised a possible starting position from one of the two front rows with a crash. However, in the morning he showed he is quick. I am looking forward to tomorrow's races."
Let me mention something interesting here before I sign off: Corser lowsided when he was close to placing on the front of the grid! He went down in a huge dust cloud, but was immediately up and running toward the corner worker so he could get to the pit (a half mile away) and get another few laps in on his second bike. He grabbed toe guy's small Honda dirtbike and blasted back to the pit and got back on track, but was fined 1,000 Euros for taking the corner worker's bike. Sometimes you just can't win!
