This is the place to ask questions and get information about the BMW RA 2006 "Discover Yourself In Idaho" Rally. It will be in Boise, ID, July 6th through the 9th. We are in the process of adding information to the rally web site: www.bmwra.org/rally, so check that often. But, do come here for your answers to questions not addressed on the web site, and to meet some of the folks you'll be seeing in Boise!

Any idea when registration will commence? I know at least four riders coming over from the Sacramento area. ;)

We made hotel reservations right after the announcement. We are very pleased to see the rally in the west this year as well as mid-summer! :D

I see the BBQ dinner option on the registration form but I don't see anything about Saturday evening dinner. Is a Sat. dinner part of the registration package?:)

No "planned" dinner for Saturday. With the size of event we're expecting, organized dinners become harder and harder. That's why Friday's BBQ is available, but not included in the rally fee.

There should be lots of good food available on site, and there are a number of good resturants within a short distance. Heck, there is a great Mexican place within walking distance across the street from the fair grounds. ;) Also, Saturday we'll be having our Closing Ceremonies and a lot of folks like to take off that evening to get a start back home.

Yes, this forum should be a big step in providing 'RA members the chance to cuss, discuss, and get to know one another. Hopefully, after the Boise rally there will be some more articles and discussion of it in th OTL to help get the world out. :D

I'm sure you've talked about this before, but since I am going to purchase a new 2006 1200 Rt next week, I want to attend and I've just signed up for the Rally and Bar-B-Que. Please direct me to the closest hotels or motels to the Rally Headquarters. No camping for me. Been there, done that.

We have contacted serveral local hotels and motels for rally accomidations. You can see them at http://www.bmwra.org/rally/hotels.html If you don't come up with anything good, post here again and we'll see what else we can do for you. Also, if you are anticipating a service on your new bike :) please contact the local dealer, Big Twin Cycles www.bigtwincycles.com (http://www.bigtwincycles.com), now to set an appointment.
