Can't believe that there is no news on the 07 rally yet. I know that good people are working on the details but we are trying to make plans for next year.

I am NOT any kind of official source, but I hear that there could be an announcement within a few weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed myself. :cool:

Let's get away from those hot summer rallies like the MOA has.

Get back to the old format, just pick some nice part of the country that does not have hurricanes

Nothing official is known yet. But, rumor is that the 2007 Rally will be in the Asheville, NC area. One location was in the works but the venue apparently had a scheduling problem. Other locations are being looked at in the next couple of weeks. Dates might be either June or September. I prefer September myself. Of course nothing is official and an announcement definitely will not be made untill the i's are dotted, the t's are crossed and the ink is dry. I am not in the decision making loop, this is only a rumor from several very good sources. Ssh! don't tell anybody!

I've got to put my vacation picks in at work by 12/8 so I'd like to know by then. I've got the senority to get whatever I pick but I've got to know what to pick. Do we even know which month yet? Maybe I'll get lucky and pick the right week if I only knew which month.

Again, I'm not an official source, but I've talked with the one who is and they are indeed working on this about as hard as they can. They had some bad luck in that the first choice site fell through, so they have been working on Plan B. I'd like to know myself. It's getting to be winter in this part of Idaho and so I naturally start thinking about the next year's riding season. :D

Maybe you can suggest to that person to get something on the home page and in the OTL to tenatively state the dates and corner of the country. So folks can put in for the vacation time.

I understand these things take time and sh*t happens and its done by volunteers. I truely appreciate the effort. But you don't wanna loose any potentional attendees.

June? That's cool. Better than the summer but not quite as good as fall. Pray for sunshine. Anyhow, the June date makes publicity even more critical. I can get the time off I hope everyone else can with 6 months notice.

If it is 7-9, in the east, Americade will cut in some of the attendees. I am planning on volunteering for the week to get a free room @ Americade.

We I liked the Asheville Idea as it is the backyard and would make volunteering very easy. East is good with Deb n me. Also for an eastern location June is before Hurricane season. AHHHH the fond memories of Ivan and Rita, at lease I think that it was Rita that we rode through to get to Shelbyville.

Good punkt. As soon as we have an announcement ready, I'll start a forum for the 2007 rally.

Besides the rally, we do intend to expand the forum but haven't decided exactly how. If you'd like to be a part of the team, let me know.

Admin...not certain what you have in mind of how I could be of help in generating forum topics/discussions...I do not yet have my BMW [other bikes but not BMW] since my R1200S is ordered for June 1 delivery..if I can help facilitate any exchange of information on the forum..will be glad to help..but candidly I came to the forum to learn...for me ignorance is not bliss! :cool:

Thanks Shag..It is going to be really tough waiting out our Winter in anticipation of receiving my R12S...very tough! The 2007 Rally will probably be out for me..but assuming 2008 Rally is out West, I will be there and perhaps get riders to visit up here in NE Oregon.. Guess I haven't been so quiet. I missed '03 & '06 but '04 and '05 where the best rallies I ever attended. Even though my BMWs are all sold I will be at every RA rally east on whatever I'm riding. Love the RA and love RA rallies!

That is going to be a rockin' location for a rally! I don't know if I can make it this year - but I sure would like to! Two big thumbs up for the rally site selection folks!! :D:D
