As a geography major I'd be remiss if I didn't suggest these sites along the way:
Geographical center of Wisconsin
http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM2AAQ
and
Geographical center of the northern hemisphere
http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM2B94

And just getting halfway there:

Folks heading to the rally from Wisconsin traveling Hwy 51 through Minocqua might want to consider the following:

Proceed N from Minocqua to Hwy 'M'. Turn right to Boulder Junction. Stay on 'M' through Boulder Junction, 5 miles N to Hwy 'B'. Turn right on 'B' and proceed E about 10 miles to Thousand Island Lake Road. The road is 1 mile past the sign to Bent's Camp and was once called '535'. Turn left. TILR will meander N about 15 miles and intersect with MI Hwy 2 about 5 miles W of Watersmeet, MI. This is a beautiful ride which will take you on the northern edge of the Sylvania Wilderness. Turn right on Hwy 2 to Watersmeet and intersect with Hwy 45 N.

Enjoy.
