On a 1983 R65 Can you replace the rear seal without removing the whole rear end? I had the front forks rebuilt and the carbs rebuilt and new tires put on last year and they told me that the seal was starting to leak but they chose not to replace it. They took the rear wheel off to replace the tire and charged me $75 just to remove and replace the tire. I would have thought that they would have called me to discuss this but they waited until I showed up at the shop to tell me. The trip is almost 50 miles each way from my house. They told me to bring in the rear and they would rebuild it for $500. Because of their lack of cooperation I will not bring it back to them. Please e-mail me at roger.gleason@uconn.edu. Thanks.
