All roads lead to Pownal, Vermont
From the North - Western Vermont, Northeastern New York
US Route 7, which travels from the Canadian border to the Massachusetts border through western Vermont, meets I-89 in Burlington and US Route 4 in Rutland, Vermont. Travelers from the Lake George/Glens Falls area of New York, will want to reach US Route 22 South to Cambridge, NY. Just south of Cambridge in the town of Hoosick Falls, Route 67A will bring you into Bennington via North Bennington. Stay on 67A until it reaches 7A (Northside drive). 7A crosses US Route 7, Bennington's major North/South road. Route 7 crosses VT Route 9 in Downtown Bennington, Bennington's major East/West route. Continue 9 miles on route 7 to Pownal, Vermont
From the South - Southern New England (MA, CT, RI)
US route 7, which crosses I-90 (the Mass Pike) in Lee, Massachusetts, continues north into Vermont. The rally site will be on the right hand side of Route 7 about a mile outside of Pownal. Stop at the Stewarts Store for gas, Leonard’s True Value for hardware or propane and the liquor store for any needed libations. All three stores are within yards of one another.
From the East
VT Route 9, the major East/West route of Bennington, intersects I-91 in Brattleboro, VT Exit 2. Considered by many to be a beautiful scenic route in 4 seasons, Route 9 climbs and travels through the lower portion of the Green Mountains. Large trucks, tractor trailers, buses and campers should perform a thorough inspection of their vehicle's braking system and the security of all loads before travelling this route. Many steep grades and winding roads can make this route hazardous to unfamiliar drivers. Route 9 goes into Bennington and turn left on route 7. Continue 9 miles on Route 7 to Pownal, Vermont
From the West
Pownel is approximately 50 minutes east of Albany, New York (the intersection of I-87 and I-90).
From I-87 North (New York State Thruway - from NYC), take the exit for I-787 north and exit I-787 at Route 7 (Troy/Bennington).
From I-90 East (New York State Thruway - from Buffalo), take exit for I-87 north and exit I-87 at Route 7 east.
From I-87 South (The "Northway" from Saratoga, Glens Falls, Lake Placid, Plattsburg) - take exit for I-87 north and exit I-87 at Route 7 east.
Route 7 East becomes VT Route 9 at the New York/Vermont (Bennington) border. Route 9 will take you into Downtown Bennington. Turn right onto Route 7 and continue 9 miles on Route 7 to Pownal, Vermont.
